A label is the last thing you add to a package and the first thing a customer reads, so it has to survive the trip. OXO Packaging prints custom packaging labels and stickers for boxes, mylar bags, jars, bottles, tins and mailers: on paper, vinyl or BOPP film, supplied on rolls, on sheets or as individually die-cut pieces. There is no minimum order, shipping inside the US is free, and standard orders leave in 10–12 working days with a 7-day rush option.
Because we also make the boxes and pouches the labels go on, we match the adhesive to the surface a kraft corrugated shipper, a cold-stored glass jar and a matte-laminated mylar bag each need a different stock. Tell us what the label sticks to and how it is applied, by hand or by machine, and we spec the rest.
The format matters more than most first-time buyers expect, because it decides how the label gets onto the package and how fast.
Roll Labels : are wound onto a core, all facing one direction, with a set unwind orientation. They are the right choice when anything above a few hundred units a week is being labelled, when a hand-held dispenser or an automatic applicator is involved, or when the label is going onto a curved container such as a jar or bottle. Tell us the core size and unwind direction your applicator needs; if you do not know, send us the applicator model and we will look it up.
Sheet Labels : come on flat A4 or letter-size carriers, several labels to a sheet. They cost less per unit at low quantities, they are easy to peel by hand at a packing bench, and a custom sticker sheet can carry several designs at once, useful when one product line has six scents or four sizes. This is what most small-batch food, candle, soap and cosmetic brands should start with.
Die-Cut Stickers : are cut fully through both the face stock and the backing, so each one is its own shape. They suit logo stickers dropped into a mailer, seal stickers across a box lid, and anything with an outline that is not a rectangle or circle; see die cut stickers for shape and size options.
Kiss-Cut Stickers : are cut through the face stock only, leaving the backing whole; the customer peels the shape off a square backer. Choose kiss-cut over die-cut when the shape has thin points or letters that would tear on a full cut, or when you want a printable border around the design.
Shapes that most packaging uses circles, ovals, rectangles and rounded rectangles have dedicated pages: circle stickers, vinyl stickers, paper stickers, waterproof stickers, holographic stickers, lenticular stickers.
Every label is a sandwich of three things: the face stock you print on, the adhesive underneath it, and the liner it peels away from. The face stock decides how it looks and whether it survives water; the adhesive decides whether it stays on.

Bottles, jars, tubs, anything refrigerated or handled wet; cosmetics and bath products |
Very rough corrugated (film does not conform to flute ridges) |

Most label failures are not printing failures. They are a paper label on a cold jar, or a film label on a fluted box. Match the stock to the surface first and the artwork second.
The flute ridges under the liner mean a thin film label only touches the high points and lifts at the edges within days. Use a paper stock with a permanent adhesive, keep the label under about 4 inches on the long side, and apply it across the flute direction rather than along it. For sealing a mailer, a circle or a long rectangle across the lid seam works; an oversized square on the lid does not. See our guide on which sticker works on a corrugated box.
Metallised and matte-laminated mylar has a low-energy surface that paper adhesives grip poorly, and the bag flexes every time it is handled. Use BOPP or vinyl with a permanent adhesive, keep the label off the zipper and tear-notch line, and allow at least 0.25 from the side seals. Waterproof face stock matters here because pouches get wiped down.
Cold glass sweats; paper labels wrinkle and let go. BOPP, clear film or textured paper with a high-tack permanent adhesive, applied at room temperature to a dry, oil-free surface. On a curved jar, keep the label height under about two-thirds of the straight-wall height so the top and bottom edges do not bridge the curve. Candle jars add heat: the label must sit below the wax line or use a heat-resistant film.
Small-diameter tubes need a thin, conformable film (BOPP, not thick vinyl) and a wraparound label with a 1/8-in overlap so the seam does not lift. Squeezable tubes need a stock that flexes; laminated paper cracks.
Smooth, flat, high-energy surfaces the easiest case. Any stock works; this is where textured paper, foil and embossing earn their money because nothing is fighting the adhesive.
Wrap-band paper labels for soap, so the adhesive never touches the bar. For food, either the label goes on the outer pack, or the stock and adhesive must be rated for indirect food contact ask at quote stage and we will confirm the compliant option.
Any size can be cut, but these are the ones that fit the packaging we make most and the ones applicators are already set up for. Prices fall when a size shares a die with an existing order, so start here unless the package demands otherwise.

To ensure the material of the stickers doesn’t conflict with the prints or produce smudging of the ink, we rely on high-tech printing that may include:
The artwork side of a label is yours. The compliance side is fixed by the product category, and it drives the label size before design starts a nutrition panel will not fit on a 2 × 2 seal.
The FDA requires a statement of identity (what it is), net quantity, an ingredient list in descending order by weight, the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor, a Nutrition Facts panel unless the product is exempt, and the nine major allergens declared in plain English. Minimum type sizes are tied to the panel size, so food labels have to be big enough to hold the panel legibly.
Cosmetics labels need an identity statement, net contents, an ingredient declaration in INCI order, and the responsible party's name and address; warnings apply to some categories. Whether a soap counts as a cosmetic or a plain soap depends on how it is marketed "moisturising" moves it into cosmetic rules.
Supplements use a Supplement Facts panel rather than Nutrition Facts. CBD and cannabis labels are governed state by state, with mandatory warning symbols, THC content, batch and test data, and in some states a specific font size and colour for the warning check the destination state's rules before the artwork is set.
A UPC needs a quiet zone around it and a minimum size (about 80% of nominal, roughly 1.175 × 0.816 in) to scan reliably. Print barcodes in black on white or a light background never on kraft without a white underprint, and never in a colour a scanner reads as light, such as red.
We print what you approve; we do not review labels for regulatory compliance. If a product is regulated, have the text checked before it reaches us reprinting a compliant label is cheaper than recalling a non-compliant one.
