Get Various Sizes for the Custom golf ball sleeves

Provide your customers with various sizes for your golf ball boxes, keeping in mind the number of golf balls added inside the packaging. Customize the sizes of the boxes by measuring the dimensions of the golf balls. A regulation golf ball measures 1.68 inches (42.67 mm) across, so a sleeve is built around that diameter and grows only in length as you add balls. These are the four configurations we produce most often:

Configuration

Box Size (inches)

Box Size (mm)

Typical Use

Single ball

1.75 x 1.75 x 1.75

44 x 44 x 44

Tee gifts, event giveaways, sample balls

2-ball sleeve

1.75 x 3.4 x 1.75

44 x 86 x 44

Twin packs, promotional pairs

3-ball sleeve (standard)

1.75 x 5.1 x 1.75

44 x 127 x 44

The retail standard — three sleeves make a dozen box

4-ball sleeve

1.75 x 6.8 x 1.75

44 x 170 x 44

Value packs and custom counts

Dozen carton (4 x 3-ball)

5.5 x 7.5 x 1.75

140 x 190 x 44

Outer box that holds four standard sleeves

Sleeve Styles and How They Open

How the sleeve opens matters more than it sounds. A tour player pulls a sleeve out of a bag one-handed; a pro shop wants something that stacks and faces forward on a shelf. These are the structures we build most:

Tuck-top sleeve:  The standard three-ball format: straight tuck at one end, printed on all four panels. Cheapest per unit, ships flat, and folds in one motion. This is what most retail sleeves are.

Sleeve with die-cut window:  A cut-out down one panel shows the ball and its logo without opening the box. Worth the small extra cost when the ball itself is the selling point, such as a limited colour or a printed tournament logo.

Two-piece rigid sleeve:  A lift-off lid over a rigid base, used for premium and corporate gift balls. It costs more and ships assembled, but it is the format that survives being handed to a client.

Sleeve with insert:  A die-cut cardboard or foam insert holds each ball in its own cradle so nothing rattles in transit. Standard on anything shipping direct to consumer rather than pallet-to-store.

Outer dozen cartons:  A larger box built to hold four three-ball sleeves, printed as a single retail unit. If you sell by the dozen, the sleeve and the carton should be designed together so the artwork lines up.

Finalize the Visually Appealing Finishes

Finally, pick the aesthetically pleasing finishes for your golf sleeve boxes to make them more visible on the shelves. Choose one or more of the finishes on your boxes to make them irresistible. Have a look at the following finishes for your golf ball sleeve boxes:

  • Matte

Choose the matte finish to give the colors and designs a reduced color vibrancy. Use this finish to give a subdued look to your boxes.

  • Holographic

Add a rainbow sheen to the golf sleeve boxes with the holographic finish. Decide on the pattern for the holographic finish, like stars, lines, mesh, or dots.

  • Embossing

When choosing intricate and detailed designs on the golf ball sleeve boxes, go for a textured look with the embossing finish. Give the visuals a 3D look with this finish.

  • Gloss

Add a shiny and protective layer around the golf boxes with the gloss finish. Keep the boxes safe from abrasions with the gloss finish.

FAQ's

Three is the retail standard, and four sleeves make up a dozen box. We also produce single, two-ball and four-ball sleeves; the width and depth stay the same and only the length changes, because it is the ball's 1.68-inch diameter that sets the other two dimensions.

A standard three-ball sleeve is roughly 1.75 x 5.1 x 1.75 inches (44 x 127 x 44 mm). A single-ball box is about 1.75 inches cubed, and a four-ball sleeve runs to about 6.8 inches long. All of them are cut to order if your contents differ.

Yes, and it is most of what we do. Sleeves are printed on all four panels, so you can carry a logo on the face, a sponsor on the reverse and event details down the side. Send your logo in vector format and we will position it on the dieline for approval.

They can. A snug tuck sleeve holds three balls firmly on its own, but if you are shipping direct to consumers or packing fewer balls than the sleeve is cut for, a die-cut insert stops movement in transit. Tell us how the boxes will ship and we will advise whether you need one.
