Keep Your Cereals Fresh With Airtight Custom Packaging

Keep the texture of your cereals crisp and prevent them from developing an off-flavor or rancid taste by choosing our custom cereal boxes. Specially designed to block out air and moisture, our breakfast packaging ensures your product stays fresh for longer.

With features like resealable closures or well-folded flaps, every cereal carton maintains a tight seal after opening. Leverage endless customization options to craft large to mini grain packaging in any size, material, style or finish.

Premium and High-Quality Materials

Cereal is light but bulky, so the board has to hold its shape on a shelf for weeks without bowing. These are the stocks we recommend and what each one is suited to:

Material

Thickness

Best For

Food Contact

Paperboard (SBS)

14pt – 18pt / 300–400 GSM

Standard retail cereal boxes

Food-grade liner required

Kraft

16pt – 24pt / 350–500 GSM

Organic and natural brands

Food-grade liner required

Cardboard

18pt – 24pt / 400–500 GSM

Family and value sizes

Food-grade liner required

Rigid stock

2mm – 3mm board

Gift sets, limited editions

Inner pouch recommended

Cereal is never packed directly against a printed board. Every carton we produce for food is specified with a food-grade inner liner or a separate poly bag, and printed with food-safe inks.

Cereal Box Sizes: What Fits What

Cereal boxes follow fairly settled retail conventions, because shelf planograms in grocery stores are built around them. If you are launching a new cereal, matching a standard size makes it far easier to get shelf placement. Here are the sizes we produce most often:

Cereal Box Type

Standard Size (L x W x H)

Typical Fill Weight

Single-serve / mini

3" x 1.5" x 4.5"

1 – 1.5 oz

Sample / trial size

5" x 2" x 6"

3 – 5 oz

Standard retail box

7.75" x 2.5" x 11"

10 – 14 oz

Family size

9.5" x 3" x 12.5"

18 – 24 oz

Value / club pack

12" x 3.5" x 14"

28 – 40 oz

Granola / muesli carton

6" x 3" x 9"

12 – 16 oz

Every size is fully customizable. If you are packing an unusual volume or a non-standard bag, send us the bag dimensions and we will build the carton around it so there is no slack for the product to settle into.

Exquisite Packaging Styles for Your Cereal Cartons

Match your brand's personality by choosing versatile shapes and styles for your custom printed packaging. Keep product quality intact while enhancing shelf appeal with these styles:

  • Straight Tuck End
  • Reverse Tuck End
  • Auto Bottom Boxes
  • Seal End Boxes
  • Window Boxes
  • Gable Top Boxes
  • Hexagon & Triangle Boxes

Stay Compliant for Printed Grain Packaging

Review the FDA Food Labeling Guide to ensure all nutrition and ingredient parameters are met. Key compliance requirements include:

  • Use an FDA-compliant inner liner, plastic pouch, or foil-lined bag to keep contents fresh and separate from the printed exterior.
  • All exterior printing must use low-migration, food-grade, or non-toxic inks to prevent chemical transfer.
  • A standardized nutrition panel must clearly outline calories, fats, sodium, sugars, and vitamins.

Unmatched Customization for Standout Breakfast Packaging

Bring your brand creativity to life with fully tailored cereal boxes. Transform your morning meal packaging into a powerful brand experience with these options:

High-Resolution Prints to Convey Your Brand Message

Design eye-catching custom printed packaging to spark curiosity and build consumer trust. Leverage digital, offset, and screen printing techniques to stand out on competitive shelves. Choose CMYK and PMS color systems for vivid, vibrant, and crisp results on your grain packaging.

Attention-Grabbing Finishes for a Unique Tactile Experience

Elevate your dry food packaging with premium finishes:

  • Gloss
  • Matte
  • Embossing
  • Debossing
  • Foil Stamping
  • Holographic

Classic and Unique Design Options

Blend classic elements with modern, eye-catching twists to appeal to your buyers. Use dynamic cartoon mascots to convey a sense of fun, or imagery of farm scenes and natural textures to impart a healthy, rustic feel on your custom cereal boxes.

Add-ons to Upgrade Functionality & Aesthetics

Enhance the look and usability of your food-grade containers with functional add-ons:

  • Ribbons
  • Handles
  • Die-cut windows
  • PVC Windows
  • Inserts and more

How Ordering Works

If you have not ordered custom cartons before, the process is more straightforward than it looks:

  1. Share your specs: Tell us the size, material, quantity and finish you have in mind. If you are unsure, send us your product details and we will recommend a specification.
  2. Get your quote: You will have pricing back within 24 hours, with no die or plate charges included.
  3. Receive your dieline: We send a flat template showing exactly where your artwork will sit, including bleed and safe areas.
  4. Free design support: No artwork ready? Our designers will build it from your logo and brand colors at no cost.
  5. Approve the digital proof: Nothing goes to print until you have signed off on exactly how it will look.
  6. Production and delivery: 12 to 15 business days after approval, shipped free anywhere in the USA.

Preparing Your Artwork

Getting artwork right the first time saves a week of back and forth. Three things account for almost every reprint:

Bleed:  Extend any background color or image 0.125 inches past the cut line on every edge. Without bleed, a fractional shift on the cutter leaves a white sliver along the edge of your box.

Safe Area:  Keep logos, nutrition panels and any text at least 0.125 inches inside the cut line so nothing important lands on a fold or gets trimmed.

Resolution & Color: Supply artwork at 300 DPI in CMYK, not RGB. Screens render RGB; presses do not, and an uncontrolled conversion is the usual reason a printed blue comes back looking purple. If you need an exact brand color, give us the Pantone reference.

FAQ's

A standard US retail cereal box measures roughly 7.75 x 2.5 x 11 inches and holds 10 to 14 ounces. Family sizes run closer to 9.5 x 3 x 12.5 inches. Matching a standard size helps with shelf placement, but we cut to any dimensions you need.

Pricing depends on size, material, print coverage and quantity, so we quote each order individually. There are no die or plate charges and shipping is free, so the quote you receive is your final cost. Bulk orders bring the per-unit price down significantly.

Yes. We use food-grade inks and specify an FDA-compliant inner liner or poly bag for any carton that will hold food directly. Tell us what is going inside and we will confirm the right liner for it.

Yes, and for food packaging we recommend it. A physical sample lets you check how your bag sits inside the carton, how the board holds its shape when filled, and how the print looks under store lighting.

Yes. Kraft and paperboard cartons are recyclable and biodegradable. If you want the whole package to stay recyclable, ask about uncoated finishes and soy-based inks; we can also advise on compostable liner options.

Yes. Inside printing is popular for cereal because it turns the empty box into engagement: games, puzzles, brand stories, QR codes to recipes. It costs a little more but it is one of the few packaging features customers actually remember.
